Voltage Regulators or Voltage Regulating Transformers

Voltage Regulator or Voltage Regulating Transformer is a system in which we can supply fixed input voltage 400V and can have output from 0 to any desired voltage. These voltage regulators are required for testing of Motors, Transformers, Switch Gears and other electrical machines. Entire range of electrical voltage regulator can be customized in accordance to client’s drawings and specifications up to 5000 Amps.

Voltage Regulator or Voltage Regulating Transformer provides variable voltage without phase shift, or deterioration of the supply waveform, and power factor. It is an auto transformer wound with heavy section of copper strip. Higher cross-sectional area ensures 99% efficiency and 100% continuous duty cycle. Longitudinal bared copper surfaces are provided in both sides of the coil. Variation in voltage ratio is achieved by the movement of carbon roller contacts over a column of turns. This arrangement allows continuous variation across the range of voltages present on the coil turns. Generally 0 to 500 Volt variation can be achieved by using regulator alone. Voltage Regulators are motorized and output voltage can be varied by pressing Increase / Decrease switch. We also provide 'T' handle for manual operation.

AC Variable Power Supply

Some cases regulators are used in combination with other fixed ratio transformers to handle larger capacity. At the heart of the AC Variable Power Supply is Voltage Regulator. It is wound with heavy section of electrolytic grade rectangular copper strip instead of copper wire to minimize the losses and increase the efficiency of the equipment. Self lubricating carbon roller assemblies which offers more reliability and trouble free performance of the equipment.

Coils of fixed winding transformers are wound with paper covered electrolytic grade copper strip or synthetic enameled copper conductors. Cooling ducts are provided to keep the hotspot temperature as low as possible. Coils are dried in electric oven. Rigid connection support and coil clamping is provided to ensure high short circuit strength. Core is constructed from low loss, cold rolled, grain oriented annealed laminations of electrical sheet steel confiming to the latest international standards.

Voltage Regulator, Fixed Ratio Transformer etc. are fitted in a common frame and housed in same or separate sheet steel tanks. Absolutely new radiators are provided for better cooling. Equipment is painted with EPOXY paint, which is resistant to acidic environment. We use new IS 335 grade Transformer Oil from Silvassa which provides better cooling and in turn increases life.

DC Variable Power Supply

For certain applications DC Variable Voltage Power supplies are required. Regulators are used in combination with fixed ratio transformer for this purpose. Silicon Diodes are used for AC to DC conversion. At the heart of the DC Variable Power Supply is Voltage Regulator. It is wound with heavy section of electrolytic grade rectangular copper strip instead of copper wire to minimize the losses and increase the efficiency of the equipment. Self lubricating carbon roller assemblies offers more reliability and trouble free performance of the equipment.
